How To Measure Kilt Size

Waist Size

Waist measurements should be taken at the navel level and the measurement must be tight. This is usually taken 2 inches higher than your hip bone or higher from where your trousers are usually worn.

Hip or Seat Size (Optional)

Please put your feet together, then measure the broadest part of your hips. Ensure that your pockets are empty! It’s not necessary

Fell Measurements (Optional)

This measurement should be halfway between the waist and seat (bottom). The fell is the distance from the waistline to the hip measurement line. It’s not necessary

Kilt Length

Please kneel on the ground, place the tape on the floor then measure up to your belly button. Remember that kilts shouldn’t be worn too long!
Normally, your kilt length will correspond with the following guides. If it's significantly different, try taking the measurements again. If it's slightly different, then it could be down to preference or body shape. See our notes below for more info.

Height 6' 3" to 6" 4" = 26" to 26.5" kilt length

By wrapping the measuring tape around the neck, put about one inch above from shoulders. This may also coincide with the bottom of your Adam's apple. put  a finger between the tape and your neck so it do not feels tight or loose. make sure the tape is at level and not bent or at an angel note down the neck size.

To measure the shoulder width Measure from one shoulder edge to the other from the back. These points are where the shoulder meets the arm. Run the measuring tape from one point to the other shoulder from above the shoulders about an inch below the neck.

  1. CHEST

For Jacket measurement this is an important part. Measure around the widest part of your chest, place the tape close under the arms and make sure the tape is level flat across the front and back. while in relax position note down the chest measurement and you are good to go.

To measure waist size for the jacket, wrap the tape around the widest part of your stomach, this is usually across belly-button. Do not breathe in or out, keeping yourself normal & relax take waist measurement.

To measure Sleeve length put one end of the measuring tape at upper shoulder edge where shoulder meets the arm, run the tape along outside of your arm down to the wrist. make sure that arm is bent to ensure the proper movement.

Back length is the measurement from the base of center Back Neck Point or cervical to the natural waistline level across belly button. For the Smorking Jackets/ Robes and gothic coats & Jackets you need to provide the body length as long as you want to have your coat/jacket or rob .

Measure your body height standing straight against the wall.
